There are two different ways to display a video window on the computer screen: Primary Surface and Overlay Surface 
Both methods work by transferring the image directly from the TV Tuner to the memory of your PC's graphics board via the PCI or AGP bus.
We recommend customers that are currently purchasing systems or upgrading graphics cards to make sure to get a graphics card that supports Overlay Surface. To force your card to Primary Surface check the MM100 support page
